A housing authority located in another state is being sued by its former director after allegations surfaced that he was owed wages not remitted by the authority. Breach of contract suits are hardly uncommon in the business world, as Florida business insiders are already aware. In this case, if the authority is found to have breached the contract with its former employee, it could be required to pay the amount demanded.

Florida residents are likely familiar with country music star Taylor Swift, who is currently under fire for allegedly walking out on a contract involving rented vehicles. The chauffeur company responsible for overseeing those rentals is suing for breach of contract in a court local to the company.

A global commodities trader has sued a former employee, according to local news. Florida residents may be aware of Cargill Inc., which is in the process of suing a man who used to work for the company. He has been accused of stealing trade secrets, which would render him in breach of contract. The federal case is currently being overseen by a U.S. District Court .

University employee files for breach of contract

A former employee of a university in the Northwest is suing her one-time employer for failing to live up to a promise. Breach of contract suits are not unfamiliar to Florida business insiders, who understand the severity of such a charge. In this case the university is accused of providing only a single year of employment when six were promised to the woman in question.

Diesel retailer sued for breach of contract

Pilot Flying J, the nation's largest retailer of airline diesel fuel, was in hot water after allegations of fraud and other charges have surfaced. The company, known to any Florida resident with a stake in air travel, has been the subject of a federal investigation for some time. The company stood accused of breach of contract, unjust enrichment and a host of other charges before agreeing to settle with the trucking union filing the complaints.

Contract dispute at Florida university comes to an end

Faculty and university representatives have left the negotiation table with a satisfactory agreement in place, according to local business sources. After some tensions on the union front, the University of North Florida managed to come to an agreement regarding a new contract for faculty, ending a contract dispute that has been ongoing for some time. While some of the contract still needs to be negotiated, both sides seem relatively happy with the new agreement.
